Stay on the field longer than the other guy
Armor, cover, repairs & ammo
More max HP makes you stay. Cover makes shells hurt less. Workshops and truck deliveries patch you up, and everyone except Berliets needs to restock to keep shooting.
At a glance
- Workshop heal
- Small heal every second to nearby friendlies, plus a little to buildings
- Convoy heal
- Burst heal (+35 HP + 10/lvl Logistics) to allies around a Berliet when it delivers
- Garrison cover
- Infantry inside a ruin/town takes about 40% less shell damage and gets a small range bump — not enough to outrange a tank
- Road penalty
- ~8% extra shell damage on roads
Surviving fire
Composite Plating adds HP; cover in ruins and towns cuts shell damage for garrisoned infantry. Workshops heal over time; Berliet deliveries burst-heal nearby units. Smoke screens break targeting.
Hit points and armor
A fresh Maus has 400 HP, an I-400 320 HP, Sea Shadow 240 HP, Cutter 175 HP, Berliets 200 HP, Warden 170 HP, Sentry 120 HP, Raider 105 HP, rifle 95 HP, and Aquila 65 HP. Composite Plating adds +15% max HP and 10% shell resist per level to everyone alive when it finishes — three levels is +45% HP plus 30% resist. Buildings don't scale with it, but Workshops can still patch them.
| Plating level | Maus staying power |
|---|---|
| 0 | 400 HP baseline |
| 1 | +15% max HP, 10% shell resist |
| 2 | +30% max HP, 20% shell resist |
| 3 | +45% max HP, 30% shell resist |
Cover: ground, garrison, smoke
Standing on a road makes shells hurt a little more — you're exposed. Ducking infantry into a ruin or town is the opposite: they take about 40% less shell damage and get a small range bump until they step back out. The tile's own block is ignored for that garrisoned unit, so it can shoot out while staying in cover. A Maus that backs up pops smoke for 1.8 seconds that hides it from direct fire beyond 2.8 tiles; activating Smoke Barrage blankets the whole army.
Repairs — Workshop vs convoy vs HQ
A Workshop is the slow, steady clinic — pulsing to everything nearby, including other buildings, which is the only way buildings heal. A Berliet delivery is the burst clinic — everyone near the HQ apron at that moment gets patched (+35 HP plus 10 HP per Logistics level). Your HQ itself doesn't passively heal — it only restocks ammo.
Ammo and getting more
Every fighter has a magazine. Maus and subs carry a few heavy shots; rifles and MGs carry many light ones. At zero, you go silent until you restock. Restock comes from being near a Workshop, your HQ, a depot you own, or even a friendly Berliet — whichever is closest and fastest wins. Berliets never need ammo themselves.
| Restock near | How close / How fast |
|---|---|
| Field Workshop | Close / fastest — and it heals too |
| Headquarters | Close / fast |
| Owned depot | A bit farther / steady |
| Friendly Berliet | Very close / slowest |
Staying alive
Pull a hurt Maus back to a Workshop instead of leaving it to die for a few seconds of depot presence. A Berliet delivery that tops up a bruised escort can swing the next brawl. And don't brawl on a road vs a shell line unless you have the heal to offset it.
